Disable Thumnails Windows Live Photo Gallery

You are right - I have the same now I selected the option. I thought you might be able to uninstall them both then just reinstall Movie Maker. However, the Essentials 2012 installer I got from MS installs both Movie Maker and Photo Gallery. I found this MS link for Movie Maker so you could see if that installs just Movie Maker A Google search shows other non MS sources for downloading Movie Maker but you might not want to trust those. I don't think this is a big deal - you could just ignore Photo Gallery since it takes up hardly any space.

While there are hundreds of photo editing software available for download, you don’t have to look elsewhere or spend a dime for basic photo editing tools. 1. Anything new come of this? I noticed Windows Live Photo Gallery allows the thumbcache1024 file to grow, mine is over 2GB but the thumbcache96 file is maxed at 449MB. This is one incredibly annoyance of 7 when dealing with tons of photos. Makes the system seem so slow but works great! Up until you reach 449MB.
  2. I use Windows Live Photo Gallery to import pictures from my camera phone. However, it will not load the thumbnails of the pictures when I try to import them. It just shows the generic picture thumbnails. Anyone know how I can make it load the thumbnails of the pictures on the phone? Thanks!Robbie.

As the saying goes, “The best things in life are free,” but when it comes to free software, the worst things you can get are adware, malware, and spyware if you don’t do your homework, so make sure you download the safe ones from legit sites only. ConclusionAs a writer, most of my photo editing tasks for blogs and write-ups include: resize, compress, and crop.

Windows Live Photo Gallery is a good alternative to Microsoft Office Picture Manager for those activities. It also supports Slideshow and lets you change the theme while watching.
