A Short Guide to Acquire A House and Land.Although many beleive you can not get a real Home and land in, you actually can. This land comes with the title of Huntsman, so you will be able to hunt for animals without getting in trouble with the law, even though it is bugged and still marks your meat as stolen. If no other reason, having your own house atop of a hill overlooking the beautiful castle of Talmberg is a great place to roleplay in this fanasticly immersive RPG game.Mild Spoilers Ahead and How to Backup Save File Incase CorruptionFirst, I have to say there will technically be spoilers but nothing huge. Also, the quest is known to be bugged, so be sure to have a save before you start the quest that you are willing to go back to in case something happens.

I also recommend you backup your save by going to your users folder and then to gamesaves, and inside kingdomcom you will find the folder Playline0.UsersYourNickSaved GameskingdomcomesavesCopy and paste this file into a safe folder so that way if your game gets corrupted, you will not have to start over completely. The quest specifically will probably not corrupt your save, but the game in general is known to corrupt saves by itself for no apparent reason so I thought this would be a good thing to teach you anyway.RequirementsAs far as I know, your main level must be at least level 10, and you must be at a certain point in the story - You have to kill Runt. The Three QuestsPlease note this is only how I succeeded in this mission. I'm aware there are other methods, but my method is the one I used to get my land and become the Master Huntsman of Talmberg (property and all).First you must speak to the innkeeper in the outside village of Talmberg. There you will speak to him and receive a quest called Hare Hunt. He will tell you about a recent problem with Poachers and will ask you to see if anyone knows anything about it. Through speaking to him, he will mention the Innkeeper at the Glade. From there, go to the Glade and speak to the innkeeper. At that point you will receive another quest called Sheep in Wolf's Clothing.

During this quest you must prove yourself that you can be trusted. Once you do the small tasks, you will meet their ex-nobleman poaching leader. During a cutscene shortly after, Talmberg soldiers will attack your group. The leader will ask you who to side with, and you must fight along side the poachers, which means killing the guards. This did not affect my reputation.Just do the quest from there and you will soon after get the third and final quest where you must kidnap the Huntsman's wife to force him into signing a confession. Upon completion, Sir Davish will reward you with the position of Master Huntsman to replace the old one, and you acquire his property and duties. So that is it. I don't go too much into detail about the quest itself because I did not want to spoil much of it as it is actually a very fun quest in my own opinion.

However, if you follow the specific choices I gave you, you will most likely succeed in getting the property. Again, it is known to be buggy. If your game bugs and you can not finish the quest, try looking up fixes.

Have you ever found yourself wishing that RPG and fantasy weren’t so tightly intertwined in video games? Warhorse Studios is right there with you and they are looking to fulfill this desire with their first game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance. Taking place in 15th Century Bohemia, Kingdom Come: Deliverance offers a unique and punishing spin on the typical role-playing game experience. In some ways, its aversion to the standard tropes of the genre are admirable and work in its favor, but it isn’t all a smooth ride for this gritty historical simulation.Players are thrust into the poor shoes of Henry, a run-of-the-mill human being and son to a blacksmith, circa 1403. You are an unimportant peasant going about his day-to-day activities, scraping by in the unforgiving medieval era. The tale does not go down the path of a prophesied hero using his inhuman might to crush the oppressive forces enslaving the land. Skyrim, this is not.

Henry’s opening moments are less about learning ancient spells and more about playing errand boy for his father. It’s almost peaceful at first, as the player learns the basics of what is an expansive system of mechanics and stats. That all falls away following a series of events involving an attack on Skalitz, Henry’s small mining town, at the order of Sigismund of Luxembourg, leaving our protagonist without a family.

He is then thrust into a perilous journey after fleeing for his life. When I say perilous, I mean perilous.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance does not hold back nor does it hold the player’s hand. It’s up to the player to dive deep into each system, understand the mechanics, and gradually increase their skill. Even then, the end result isn’t staggeringly different than this hero’s humble beginnings. The same concepts apply to how the missions are structured. There may be multiple approaches that are more subtle than the obvious, direct option. For example, if the goal is to obtain a certain item, it might be able to be simply purchased. However, theft is also a viable choice, for those not interested in maintaining the plain-but-likeable Henry’s morality. Even going down the theft route can branch out into sub-choices, leaving the player to use stealth or force or something entirely more creative to achieve their goal.

The open-endedness of the game will surely appeal to those that enjoy seeing the world react and adapt to their decisions. And the world truly does adapt, regardless of player input sometimes. The world is a living, breathing entity. It does not wait around for Henry to get stuff done. This is not one of those RPGs that will have a sub-story standby for 20+ hours while the player ventures off to the farthest reaches of the land. While no timer appears, the need for time management is real and forces a sense of urgency in all that needs to get done. If an NPC asks for help immediately, chances are they won’t be around if Henry wanders off to go hunting in the woods for a few hours. That is not to say that diversions have no place in Kingdom Come. There is plenty to see and do.

Henry can go hunting, get drunk at the pub (complete with hangover afterwards), partake in an archery contest, aid the local denizens, and much more. Henry is built by what the player does. If you want to be better at riding horses, go ride horses. If you want to crack open every locked chest, try your hand at lockpicking.

The slew of stats all grow incrementally as the player engages in certain activities. All of this is tracked within a burdensome set of menus. Did I mention you can level up drinking? Now, who doesn’t want to max that out?At this point you may be wondering about combat. It is a core part of the experience, but it deserves to be discussed all by itself.

Combat comes in a few different flavors. Henry can engage in hand-to-hand scuffles; he can cross steal with an opponent; an assault can be performed on horseback; or a bow can be used to eliminate targets at range.

The last one of that bunch is a bit tricky given the fact that no reticle exists in-game to help guide one’s aim when using a ranged weapon. As for the other options, the experience is akin to a weightier form of what can be found in For Honor.Whether there is a sword in Henry’s hands or he’s only clenching his fists, a five-pronged reticle appears that dictates the direction from which the player blocks or attacks.

Learning how to read an opponent and when to go on the offensive are important in achieving success throughout the game. It is deeply tactical, but the speed at which punches are thrown or swords are swung seems slightly delayed. The immediate responsiveness of other RPGs is not found here.

And I believe that is part of the simulation that Warhorse has crafted, even if it isn’t exactly to my personal liking. A certain flow does develop over time, especially if training is taken advantage of, but there will likely never come a point where more than two enemies becomes an easy task.Prepare to die. And prepare to do it a lot. Foes are deadly and it only takes one miscalculation to turn the tide of a battle. Every strike received translates into reduced health and stamina, making victory less likely with each blow. As if to punish you further for any failures, the developer has implemented a wildly restrictive save system.

Saving only occurs after sleeping in a bed (owned or rented) or by consuming a bottle of Saviour Schnapps. The former of those two is fairly straightforward. Rest up, heal, and the game saves. However, beds aren’t going to be found sitting alongside the road just before a group of bandits. Saviour Schnapps act as a “quick save” mechanic, but these consumable items are both limited and expensive to replenish. One might appreciate the weight of their actions knowing they can’t save quickly before taking on an enemy. That is not how this reviewer felt about it, though.

The system is archaic and can result in substantial lost progress (and loot) if killed during a multi-part mission. No one likes backtracking.

The system is so punishing that I found myself relying heavily on speech so that I could help Henry avoid combat all together when it wasn’t absolutely necessary. In many cases, it just wasn’t worth the risk of having to revert back to a save from a while ago. You would be remiss if you think that speech is an effortless way to sidestep physical engagements. NPCs will respond to Henry based on his renown, the quality of his clothes, the presence of blood on those clothes, the weapons carried, and other minor details. Still, it was the preferred choice to evade the chance of biting the dust. When the moments did occur where death sent me back a good ways, I capitalized on the moment to explore new answers to missions and explore the amazingly detailed world.

Kingdom Come Deliverance Wiki

I don’t think a game has ever created forests this lifelike. Getting lost in the open world was truly a joy and the lack of numerous markers ensured that my eyes were focused on the scenery laid before me. The landscapes crafted by Warhorse are a triumph in themselves. Even the wonderfully voiced inhabitants are a joy to interact with and listen to. The sense of realism expands to this area of the game well, especially now that the lip sync issue has been addressed. That beauty does come at a cost, however. Performance isn’t exactly a strong point for Kingdom Come: Deliverance.

The game was reviewed on a PC housing a GTX 980 Ti, i7-4790K, and 16GB RAM. At these specs, the game struggled on High settings at a resolution of 1440p in many areas. The biggest offender was the bustling towns where frames could nearly be halved.

The countryside was a mostly steady experience, with only a handful of frames dropping off occasionally from the targeted 60.In addition to how the game performs on hardware, Kingdom Come suffers from another notable plight of open-world games: glitches. Some of these were funny, such as a character being embedded in a wall. Other times, laughs were nowhere near my lips. This moment arose when a progress-breaking bug prevented an NPC from performing their necessary action to have things progress. And, as stated, the limited save system can make reloading to an earlier spot a real pain.

It is near impossible to make a game of this scale and not have bugs in the final product. There are too many combinations of variables to account for or possibly fully uncover, but it does feel like additional development time would have benefited the game.Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a one-of-a-kind RPG experience. It is gritty, punishing, historically informative, and realistic. The abundance of systems present extend well beyond what a simple review could relay without using thousands upon thousands of words. In some cases, that works in the game’s favor, a testament to its insane depth.

Other times, the game shows cracks as it attempts to shoulder all of that weight. Still, you would be hard-pressed to find another game like this on the market, making it a special treat for those with the mental endurance to see it through.VerdictKingdom Come: Deliverance strips away the fantasy from RPG and replaces it with something infinitely more dirty and relatable. This is one role-playing experience that is spilling over with ambition at every turn, even if it gets in its own way from time to time.

The hardcore, survivalist, tactical players out there will likely have a field day with everything on offer in spite of the flaws present, while the rest may find themselves turned away by the cumbersome systems connecting it all.7.0 Saviour Schnapps Out Of 10Release Date: February 13th, 2018Available Platforms: PC (Reviewed), PS4, Xbox OnePublisher: Deep SilverDeveloper: Warhorse StudiosDisclosure: Kingdom Come: Deliverance Was Provided By The Publisher For Coverage Purposes.
